The Wild Highlanders

The
Wild Highlanders are
a rowdy bunch of Scottish
lads and lasses all with
one thing in mind, having
fun! All the men
and women of The Wild
Highlanders love meeting
people and exploring the
highland ways. The Wild
Highlanders started out
as a group of rouge Scottish
hoodlums but as time and
numbers grew, they became
a 13th Century Highland
Clan born in the 21st
Century. They have held
to the traditions of the
13th Century in
dress
and weapons as closely
as possible.
In the
times of highland clans, the
Wild Highlanders would have
been called a "Clan
of Broken Men" as
the Clan is made up
of many different Family
Clans. Although they wear
the Tartan of the Wild Highlanders,
everyone retains the Tartan
of their individual Family
Clans and puts a swatch
of it on Tam, Sword, or
the Clan's weapon - The
Lochaber Axe.
At
the Wild Highlander's tent,
you will see and learn
amazing things
about the ancient highlanders.
You will enjoy an entertaining
and educational show
covering the highlander's
arsenal of weapons with
a large selection
of hand crafted Scottish
weapons available for purchase.

Clann Nan Con

Clann
Nan Con was
formed in 1998 by
a group of long-time
Civil War re-enactors
who were looking
for a new challenge. Their
aim was to give
as accurate a
portrayal as possible
of the early Scottish
settlers of Georgia,
as well as those
who fought for
Scottish independence
during the risings
of the late-17th to
mid-18th centuries.
Each man wears
clothing accurate
to the period,
made of real Scottish
tartan material,
and carries historically
accurate traditional
weapons and accoutrements.
Clann
Nan Con portrayed
the Highlanders
in History Uncovered, a
new movie developed
for Fort Frederica
National Monument.
The group sets up
living history encampments
at Highland games
and Celtic festivals
across the Southeast.
Clann
Nan Con is
at the heart of living history events at
Forts Frederica and King George on the
Georgia coast. The group has
also participated in wilderness treks
through the Cohutta Wilderness and a
boat trek from Fort King George to Fort
Frederica. For additional information
on the clan, contact Chief Britt
Brinson.
